Pecans in Shell

Like so many other nuts, pecans have their fair share of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, potassium, zinc and more. In-shell pecans have a longer shelf life than shelled pecans; due to their high oil content, however, it’s best to refrigerate them if you won’t be consuming them within four months of purchase. In addition to infusing your desserts with pecans, there are many other culinary uses for pecans; add them to salads, rice and pilaf dishes; grind them to coat fish and chicken; sprinkle them in oatmeal and hot cereal and lots more.
